The arctic tundra is located mostly in the Northern Hemisphere (as shown at left) at latitudes 55º to 70º North, encircling the North Pole. The only exception is the arctic tundra located in Antarctica. While not many people live in the arctic tundra, it covers an incredible 20% of Earth's surface.
It exists in North America, Greenland, Iceland, Russia, and parts of Europe.
